A Station ID symbolizes the unity of one network -- a convergence of stars, joining together to show everyone who they’re doing it for: the viewers. The last Station ID of GMA Network was filmed back in 2002. A lot has happened since then, and many new faces have joined the Kapuso network.

Last week, the Kapuso Network undertook a major project that joined almost 200 artists under the roof of the network center. A flood of white flowed through the hallways, lobbies and the grand staircase at the entrance of the building. And of course, iGMA.tv was there to give you the lowdown on what happened. A lot of the early birds were the celebrities you can call new blood. Lounging around in their white ensembles, there was a laidback feel to the main lobby, while production people rushed to and from places, calling other celebrities who weren’t there yet and coordinating with the traffic police to aid with the flow of vehicles.

It was one of those days.

Pretty soon, the celebrities themselves were being rushed. Those who weren’t in their white clothes yet were asked to change, and make-up artists were following the stars as they walked to the studio for the shoot. But throughout all these almost synchronized chaos, a few artists found the time to talk to iGMA.tv.

Some, like Chuck Allie, expressed their excitement while waiting for their turn. “This is my first Station ID shoot,” the StarStruck 3 graduate revealed. “I’m quite excited kung paano ba siya mangyayari.” stars
Others, such as Valerie Concepcion, expressed pride and happiness for being part of the momentous event. “Siyempre nakakatuwa, ‘di ba?” she said in all seriousness. “‘Yun nga alam naman (natin) na there are some stars din na natawagan at (meron rin na) hindi pinapunta here. So being one of those (that are here, I’m) happy.”

Proud to be Kapuso

And in all the hustle and bustle of the shoot, how does it feel for these stars to be part of the Kapuso family?

“Sobrang sarap,” Felix Roco answered. “Enjoy dito.”

“Iba magtrato ang Kapuso,” Mike Tan shared. “Sobrang aalagaan ka, kaya sobrang mahal na mahal ko ang mga Kapuso.”

“Heto na yung second home namin,” Iwa Moto replied with conviction. “I’m happy here. Nandito ka na, teritoryo mo na ‘to! Dito ka na nag-bubuild, kaya lahat ng taong nakakasalubong mo kilala mo. Mahal ko ang GMA.”

And it shows that these artists weren’t just saying they love GMA because they’re talents of the network. They’ve sacrificed their time and energy to shoot a production of this size, with temperature that’s enough to cook an egg, and traffic that. By being there, they’re already showing what the Station ID hopes to promote: Unity.

Rising singing stars stars
To further promote the theme, the song that accompanies the Station ID was also reworked, reworded, and rerecorded to include the new batch of rising singing sensations from Pinoy Pop Superstar and Sugar Pop.

“I feel very honored (to be part of the new song),” Aicelle Santos responded as she strode to the studio. “Bata pa lang ako, naririnig ko na yung Station ID (song. At) ‘di ko pinangarap na paglaki ko magiging part ako (ng Station ID), and I will sing (its) song!”

Pinoy Pop Superstar Year 2 winner Gerald Santos had this to say: “Sobrang sarap po sa pakiramdam, sobrang overwhelming, dahil talagang napakalaki pong karangalan ‘yun na araw-araw maririnig ‘yung boses namin doon.”
