'StarStruck' Factor 1 sends Ian Batherson home

Sa ikatlong pagkakataon, nalagay si Ian Batherson sa bottom group last January 31 sa 'StarStruck V.' At sa bisa ng Factor I, wherein three times in the bottom group means elimination, Ian was sent home. Ang tanong, may naalis pa bang iba sa 9th elimination night of 'StarStruck V?' During the ninth elimination night ng StarStruck V, Factor IV agad ang bumati sa natitirang pitong contenders at sa mga viewers ng show. And Factor IV states that instead of a Final 4, magkakaron ng Final V sa finale ng season na ito ng StarStruck. How does that change the game?

Because the fifth contender can either be a girl or a boy. Ibig sabihin, hindi na contained sa gender ang competition between StarStruck survivors. They will be competing against everyone na.

In the January 31 episode, the seven contenders gave their dream performances to cap of the Dream Flicks week. And matapos bigyan ng score at ng computations, ang mga natawag sa bottom group ay sina: Steven Silva, Rocco Nacino at Ian Batherson.

Factor I Strikes

Factor I states na the first survivor who gets into the bottom group three times would get eliminated automatically. And in the ninth elimination night, Ian Batherson entered the bottom group for the third time.

"Gusto ko talagang makapasok sa end—pero I'm happy. Sayang talaga hindi ako nakapasok, but hey, it's all right. This is just the beginning. I'm pretty motivated, kasi maraming mga sikat na artista [ang] hindi nakapasok sa Final Four. But hey, you know, that's life. You just gotta move on—you can't change it."

Unlike noon na Ian was very wary of Factor I, ngayon ay parang tanggap agad ng binata ang kanyang elimination. Sabi nga niya, now he has time to spend with his mother—and to rest. Sabi nga niya, the first thing he'll do is to "get some privacy."

Alam naman daw niyang may magiging trabaho siya once the Final Judgment is over. That's why his immediate plans are: "Ayusin ko 'yung Tagalog ko—I always say that. I'll just spend time with my mom, my family and friends. Maybe go to Bicol for one week or two weeks, just to clear my head."

Dagdag pa nga niya, "the only thing I regret is not winning the money. But everything else—it's okay." Why this is so, Ian reveals na he was planning to give the prize money sa kanyang parents who had given so much just so he could chase his dreams.

Dahil sa Factor I ay automatically eliminated si Ian. Kaya naman hindi pa makahinga ng maluwag sina Rocco at Steven who were left at the bottom group. Pero nang i-reveal ng hosts na sina Dennis Trillo at Carla Abellana that Ian also garnered the lowest total score, the two joyously hugged each other because they are safe for another week.

Meanwhile, si Ian naman ay kailangan magmadali to get his things from StarStruck 1110.

Leaving StarStruck 1110

Isang linggo lang ang tinagal ni Ian sa StarStruck 1110, ang bahay kung saan tumutuloy ang mga StarStruck contenders for the remaining weeks ng competition. Kuwento niya sa amin, "Sobrang bagong experience sa akin to live with ibang mga tao. It's like camp, you know?"

"I got closer to the boys, sobrang galing 'yung experience," kuwento nga niya sa amin. Pero he also had to make some adjustments. "'yung biggest adjustment ko, hindi ko pwedeng gawin 'yung lahat ng gusto ko anytime I want. Kailangan kong maghintay sa banyo; kung gusto ko kumain, kailangan kong maghintay sa ibang tao because that's the courteous thing to do. Nag-adjust ako, pero masaya ako na nandito ako."

Sa kanyang pag-alis sa StarStruck 1110, ito ang masasabi ni Ian:

"I'll just miss bonding with my friends. I just started talking to the girls recently, pero malapit na matapos ang StarStruck. Pagkatapos, we'll all be on our own. Might as well get used to it early, 'di ba? Get a head start. But I'll miss that. But what I miss more is my privacy at home—and my time with my mom. Kasi kawawa naman 'yung nanay ko, nandoon siya tapos mag-isa."

At ang kanyang mensahe naman para sa mga natitirang survivors: "Do your best. You guys are doing your best, sobrang proud ako. I'm happy I got to spend a week with you guys in the quarters. It's awesome. Steven—speak Tagalog! Grabe ka!"

This season, there will be a Final V showdown sa Final Judgment—pero anim pa ang current survivors! Sino sa tingin niyo ang huling magpapaalam before the finale at the Araneta Coliseum on February 21?
