This season ng "StarStruck," mas intensive ang ating behind-the-scenes look sa mga nangyayari sa ating mga survivors. Pero Stef Prescott shares that it's the things we didn't see on TV that made her time in the competition memorable for her. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.
Malaki ang pasasalamat ni Stef Prescott sa StarStruck dahil according to her, it changed her life:
"I think the person I am today, and the lifestyle that I have right now, is all because of StarStruck." Stef tells us na hindi lang ang buhay niya ang nagbago kundi pati rin 'yung sa pamilya niya. Kuwento nga niya, "Kung before hindi ako puwede lumabas mag-isa, ngayon kailangan talaga minsan na lumabas at mag-stay [outside] until the morning hours, 'di ba?"
At siyempre, hindi rin puwedeng kalimutan ni Stef ang star-making potential ng show. "StarStruck was the stepping stone--instant stardom talaga."
Stef tells iGMA.tv she wouldn't change her StarStruck experience for anything. From learning how to act, how to dance and how to sing, marami daw siya talagang natutunan sa competition. "That's probably the biggest thing that I will always remember--some of the things that we learned there were so big na parang ang hirap i-consume all at the same time. You learn how to do more things than a normal artist does in the life span of their time in the industry, and that was in 15 weeks."
Pero ang most memorable moments niya from her time in the competition, Stef reveals to us, is the time she spent bonding with her batch mates in StarStruck's former office at the 8th floor of GMA Network's main building.
Kuwento niya sa amin, "you see us working, doing challenges together, and they're making us [fight on air] na hindi naman kami nag-aaway." Stef says that the competition we see on air is very intense, "but in reality we're all like family."
Hindi rin daw niya makakalimutan ang mga oras na natutulog sila sa ilalim ng desks ng StarStruck office "because our schedules were so hectic." Stef shares with us that these were the memories she will always cherish. "And that's something you don't see on TV e."
Almost three years have passed since Stef bid the show farewell, matapos ng kanyang unexpected ousting during the Danger 8 week. And marahil isa ito sa mga pinaghuhugutan niya nang mag-iwan siya sa amin ng mensahe para sa mga bagong finalists ng StarStruck V:
"Just be prepared to be surprised." Stef continues na kahit ano pa man ang napanood nila noon sa StarStruck, kahit gaano pa karaming batches ang nauna sa kanila, "when you're the person that's in the competition, it's totally different."
Inamin sa amin ni Stef that she watched StarStruck even before she joined the competition in 2006. "I thought, 'kayang-kaya ko yan. Bakit sila umiiyak? Ang arte naman nila.' But once you're in the competition yourself, you'll feel the adrenaline rush and the things you didn't expect."
Kaya naman ang advice niya sa natitirang eight survivors ng StarStruck V, "Live [every] week like it's going to be your last week on StarStruck. The competition talaga is the best thing about it."
Matapos ng kanyang role sa action adventure sa Ang Panday, Stef is playing royalty ngayon sa fantastic world ng The Last Prince. Catch the show every weeknight sa GMA Telebabad, pagkatapos ng Darna.

Stef is one of the most beautiful and talented stars in GMA. It's a shame that she has never been given a project which can showcase her true worth.
