Niccolo Cosme has always been the man behind the lens kaya naman ng tinawagan siya ng GMA para sa Celebrity Duets, he assumed that they were asking him to do a photo shoot for the show.
"When I got a call I was in Baguio, ang sabi nila sa akin, we need you for a show, for Celebrity Duets. Since kliente ko ang GMA at QTV, sabi ko 'okay kelan ang shoot?' akala ko ako ang magsho-shoot," ang natatawang kwento ni Niccolo sa amin.
When he learned na they were asking him to join, shock and disbelief ang una niyang naramdaman.
"Wait lang hndi ako ready doon! I already made plans to go abroad. I was supposed to fly to the US, sa New York and L.A. for an exhibit, so I had to weigh things," ang paliwanag ni sikat na fashion photographer.
"I had to weigh things. Noong natanggap ko 'yung [offer], tumawag agad ako sa America, sabi ko 'baka pwedeng i-move, kasi hindi pala ako pwedeng umalis hanggat hindi ako nasisipa [sa contest], di ba? So ang nangyari I have to let go of the trip for next year and then go for this one, which I think naman will help my career, win or lose."
At mukhang hindi nagkamali ng desisyon si Niccolo dahil week after week, ginugulat niya ang mga judges at viewers sa kanyang mga performances at gimmicks.
"You are one of the better singers in this competition," ang comment ni Judge Danny Tan sa isa sa mga performances ni Niccolo. "You're also one of the more comfortable [contenders] on-stage when performing. Constructive criticism lang," he countered, "Sa sobrang taas ng energy mo, sometimes you tend to shout, so control lang. But the performance is great," dagdag pa ni Judge Danny.
