Marami-rami na ring beses lumabas si Jay R sa pelikula at soap—pero his next project, a four-episode mini-series for 'Dear Friend' will definitely please his fans the most. Text and Photos by Jason John S. Lim.
Sa last day ng Dear Friend taping ni Jay R, binisita ng iGMA at ng ilang members of the press ang set para kausapin ang binata sa kanyang pagbabalik acting sa telebisyon after the hugely successful LaLola. And this time around, the person he'll be portraying will be a little bit more challenging.
"'Yung character ko, [siya] 'yung paboritong anak ng isang business tycoon," Jay R tells us. In the mini-series called Three Bachelors, Jay R plays the eldest and most favorite son. "Lahat ng business tricks, tinuro sa akin para ako [ang] mag-mana ng kumpanya, ako magpapa-takbo."
But, as all stories go sa Dear Friend, marami ang problemang haharapin ng gagampanan niyang character. "Mamamatay 'yung daddy naming--may mga drama na mangyayari."
"Ayaw kong sabihin ngayon," he adds. "Kasi sana panoorin ng mga tao."
What he is willing to tell us though is the fact that he will be marrying Kyla, or rather Kyla's character, in the show. "Pero may drama din—kasi ayaw niya [ikasal sa akin]."
This is the reason why Jay R thinks his fans—and Kyla's—will be happy with Dear Friend's latest offering. Marami na rin daw kasi ang nagre-request na magkasama silang muli sa soap ni Kyla, and Jay R reveals that the last one was around six years ago!
"Narito ang Puso Ko," he recalls. Jay R continues that the he and Kyla are aware of their fans, and "I think they're gonna be really happy kasi nagkasama kami sa isang soap e."
"I think that's the purpose kung bakit ito ginawa ng GMA," he says of his and Kyla's casting for the show.
Not that anyone's complaining.
Sa bagong kuwentong magsisimula sa Dear Friend, Jay R hopes that people will get the stories of the three brothers. "Ang daming lessons dito," he says. Like?
"Not to be greedy with money." Sa part ni Jay R, this is what he wants people to learn from his role. He reiterates, "money is not everything."

i am a fan of kyla and jay r!!! I hope meron pa next show after this... promise di me mag oovertime sa work...di bale na ot pay!!! kyla's enough!! hehehe! adik! i hope gma will really somehow give chance for these love team hehe! thank you po sa dear friend epi na toh... a million thanx...lalo na sa susunod!!! Go kapuso!!
