Sa mga hindi pa nakakakaalam, 'StarStruck,' the popular reality show that launched the careers of many a familiar and popular face in the business, ay babalik na. Kaya let's look back at two of the last batch's alumni, at kamustahin natin ang kanilang naging experiences after ng show na ito. Text by Erick Mataverde. Photos by Jason John S. Lim and Connie M. Reinventing Stef
Para kay StarStruck: The Next Level Avenger, Stef Prescott, she feels lucky that offers came in right after the competition. Though she's not really new to the glitz and glamour, dahil sa various commercials at print ads na ginawa niya before. But she considers StarStruck as the reason that paved the way for her to be noticed as an actress.
"Kasi right after StarStruck, may Boys Nxt Door, tapos ngayon, I can get to improve pa in my acting," banggit ni Stef, who is now busy in her role sa new Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal prime time hit, All My Life.
"Marami na akong natutunan so it's a good change naman," dagdag pa niya.
Though, even before pa naman inumpisahan na ni Stef i-hone ang kanyang acting. We remember her as Tiffany sa pinaka-unang regular acting role niya sa SineNovela My Only Love: "Sobrang privileged [ako], kasi ako 'yung pinaka-bago dito. Tuwang-tuwa ako na nakasama ako kasi it's a big break for me."
At para sa kanyang pinaka-unang character, she felt honored din being cast as a kontrabida. Paliwanag ni Stef, "Sa tingin ko ['yung] mga viewers ngayon nakakaintindi sila kesa sa dati. Sa akin, ipakita mo lang na hindi [ganoon] ang totoo mong ugali."
This time naman sa kanyang bagong soap, she is cast as Nicole, the understanding friend of Kris. And para kay Stef, she wants her fans to know that she has matured both in real and reel life. "I want to show people na 18 na ako," kanyang tugon. "I want to give [them] a new flavor, something new—I want to show the new and improved me."
Jewel's journey
And for Ultimate Sweetheart Jewel Mische, the opportunities were boundless naman after StarStruck.
"Naiisip ko nga 'yun eh, pa'no kung busy na kami noon, eh 'di mas busy pa ngayon," banggit niya after the competition. "Marami akong makakatrabahong magagaling na tao kung saan matututo na naman ako ng maraming bagay."
Pagkatapos, true enough, she also immediately afterwards landed her first big break immediately sa Magic Kamison: Black Jewel in the Palace. "I didn't believe it at first, but yeah it feels great talaga!" masayang sinabi ni Jewel when she learned of the offer. "First of all, hindi ko inasahan na [mabibigyan ako ng] sarili kong show. That is something that I should be proud of."
So may nugget of wisdom ba si Jewel para sa mga fellow artists niya?
Kanyang inihayag, "Be an example, be sensitive, and be careful in everything that you do. Kasi, you'll never know na there are people na nanunuod sa iyo and they get inspired when they see you."

Ang galing din ng batch nato, andaming magaganda sa mga girls, Jewel, Stef, Rich, Kris. When kaya ang susunod na batch ng Starstruck. Sana ito na lang lagi ang talent seach ng GMA, pwede naman silang kumuha ng magagaling kumanta from the applicants, sisikat pa.
