Ngayong Lunes, may isang istroya na muling aantig sa ating mga damdamin. Ang "Kung Aagawin Mo Man Ang Lahat Sa Akin" ay pagbibidahan ni Maxene Magalona, kung saan niya gagampanan ang lead female role sa remake ng film na ito. Text by Erick Mataverde. Photo by Mitch S. Mauricio.
"Sobrang excited ako kasi this is my second time to do Dramarama," declared Maxene Magalona when iGMA interviewed her during the show's photo shoot. "Excited ako kasi even if I did [it] before, I know that this is gonna be very different from what I did the last time. Every time na may bago akong show, I want to always bring something to whatever it is I can do."
Kuwento ni Maxene na, in a way, she is paying homage sa kanyang late father, the Master Rapper, Francis M., through her role sa Sine Novela na ito. Matatandaan nating si Kiko ang gumanap bilang Dino (to be portrayed in the TV remake by Jace Flores) sa original 1987 movie kung saan siya ay na-link sa lead female character na si Maureen, played by Ms. Sharon Cuneta.
"Excited ako particularly, [dahil] 'yung original film nito, nandito 'yung dad ko, si Papa—and then nag-cameo din 'yung mom ko (Pia Magalona), [so] parang nostalgic 'yung feeling niya," revealed Maxene.
And, as for playing the role that was portrayed by Sharon Cuneta, Maxene is confident she can pull it off, pero may kaunting kaba pa rin siya,of course: "The pressure is still there. It's a Sharon Cuneta film. And, of course, kahit anong Sharon Cuneta [project], you have to live up to whatever Ms. Sharon Cuneta did."
Pero, being used to this, kanyang sisiguraduhin na this would not get to her.
"So, even if may pressure, I don't wanna think about it too much. Kasi parang it's gonna get to me lang, tapos baka [maapektuhan] 'yung performance ko. So [in] every show that I do—'yung role ko, parang hindi naman sa sobra ko siyang inaaral or what—I just go with the flow kung ano ang nasa script, kung no 'yung nasa story; whatever the scene calls for how I should react and stuff like that, basta 'yung best na magagawa ko, I'm really going to bring that to the set."
Ano pa ang exciting para kay Maxene sa panibagong project niya na ito?
"All of the cast, first time ko sila makakatrabaho. And that's one of the things that I look forward to when I have a new show—mga co-actors ko talaga," she answered.
Para naman sa role niya as Maureen sa Kung Aagawin Mo Man Ang Lahat Sa Akin, may mga contrast din sa previous Sine Novela character niya: "Very obedient siya (si Maureen) na daughter. Adopted siya, [and] she knows it. Okey lang sa kanya, kasi parang she's the type na kahit na alam niyang adopted siya, hindi siya 'yung mag-rerebede. In fact, mas magiging thankful pa nga siya that a family took her in."
"[Sa] Una Kang Naging Akin, sa show na 'yun, medyo palaban 'yung character ko dun. At first meek, pero after that naging palaban din siya kasi may anak na siya eh. So parang pinaglalaban niya talaga 'yung anak niya. But here naman, [may pagka]-martyr [si Maureen]," explained Maxene.
"Watch Kung Aagawin Mo Man Ang Lahat sa Akin. Powerhouse cast [ito]. I'm sure maganda ang magiging chemistry ng mga artista sa set. And lahat naman kami we're gonna work hard and give our very best para matuwa ang lahat ng tao," she invites in parting.
Itong June 22 na ang bagong drama na siguradong kakasabikan ninyo—Ang Kung Aagawin Mo Man Ang Lahat sa Akin sa Dramarama sa Hapon.
