Carla Abellana may be a newbie in the world of show business, but she definitely has the passion for it in her blood. This young lady's lola was one of the most famous actresses of her time, to whom she is forever grateful for raising her and her siblings. Text by Rose Galvez. Interview by Jason John S. Lim. For the uninformed, Carla's grandmother is actress Delia Razon, great LVN beauty of the late '40s to mid-'50s. Kaya we won't be surprised kung namana ni Carla ang acting abilities nito, bukod pa sa kanyang kagandahan.

But clearly, hindi lang ang hilig sa pag-arte ang nakuha ni Carla sa kanyang lola, kundi moral values na hanggang ngayon ay gumagabay sa kanya. You see, her Lola Delia wasn't just an affectionate granny she would see every now and then—she was a key parental figure na siyang nagpalaki sa kanya mula pagkabata.

"My lola was the one who really raised us," bungad ni Carla during an exclusive iGMA interview. "Kasi my mom was a single parent, she'd be at work the whole day. 'Yung lola ko ang nagdi-discipline sa amin. She's not just my lola but a parent talaga to me, and to us, to our family. She would really be the one to teach us all [these] values."

Anu-anong values ba ang inistill sa kanya ng kanyang lola habang siya ay lumalaki?

Carla says marami, pero ang nangingibabaw ay isang bagay lang: "Number one is always to be humble. Kahit naman before pa eh, maliit pa kami, sa kahit sino daw na makikilala namin, be humble. Be nice."

But what about people who will want to bring her down? Alam naman natin na kapag sikat na ang isang artista, marami din ang gustong sumira dito. Would she still be nice with her detractors, if ever?

"Kahit masama na sa 'yo 'yung tao, hinihila ka pababa, okay lang 'yun," Carla says calmly. "Be nice kasi si God na ang bahala sa kanya."

Aside from teaching them about humility and kindness, nagkukuwento rin ba ang lola niya tungkol sa kanyang showbiz career noong dalaga pa ito?

"Oo. Palagi siyang pala-kuwento about 'yung buhay niya noong araw, kung paano siya nag-umpisa noong nag-artista siya, and even prior to entering show business," Carla says. "Nagkukuwento siya about her life and what she went through. Coming from Iloilo to Manila, she has stories about everything she went through."

And now that Carla has landed the lead role in GMA-7's Rosalinda, talaga namang super excited si Lola Delia for her darling apo: "Among everybody [sa family ko], siya 'yung pinaka-excited. Tapos, hindi naman siya 'yung tipong nakikialam, na nakakapit all the time, pero 'pag nagkikita kami sa house, may baon siya palaging tip. May baon siya palaging advice. 'Yun lang, constant reminding lang na to be nice and to be humble, ganyan. So dapat daw thankful ako kasi siyempre mas mahirap noong time nila."

   hi Carla. Ang simple mo at napakaamo ng mukha mo. Gusto ko lang po malaman is how are you related to PJ Abellana kase pareho kayo ng last name and may resemblance ka sa kanya. Yun lang po. Good Luck for sa Rosalinda and ang idol ko rin po yung leading man...super handsome..bagay kayo. God bless po.

   even shes like marian... i know shes not like that women na mukhang palengkera and very plastick like orocan im a kapuso fan but i dont like marian at all ever since,this women i like her una plang i hope u will be a next big thing to GMA and you become a next big star and big big asset to them Palitan mu na si marian ayoko talaga sya she's not real at all.

   but from the looks of it, her grandmother really raised her well so i think we we don't have to worry about that happening. haha

   lam niyo kahawig siya ni marian rivera.............. promise.........yung mata niya kasi tsaka yung dimples..... tignan niyo pag malayuan at pag biglang tingin........... pag nakaside view hindi........pag nakaharap lang
