Siya si Warren sa 'All About Eve,' isa sa mga tampok na character sa bagong adaptation to hit the prime time airwaves in GMA Telebabad. And Alfred Vargas takes this role in stride as he plays a man torn between two loves. Text by Erick Mataverde. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.
"Isa akong segment producer, Iza (Calzados)'s stepbrother, tapos I will fall in love with Sunshine (Cruz). Pero Iza will like me rin. So magkakaroon ng triangle," ang description ni Alfred Vargas sa kayang role sa All About Eve.
And kamusta naman ang kanyang return sa isang dramatic role na kung saan siya ay nasa good side, as opposed to the role he played as Albert in the movie When I Met U?
Kuwento ni Alfred, "Iniba ko 'yung attack ko dun sa [When I Met U]. Hindi ko ginawang straight-out kontrabida. Pero dito naman gusto ko ibang-iba ako dito, maganda 'yung character. Basa lang nang basa [ako] ng script tapos klini-clear ko 'yung character ko with the people. Parang martyr ako dito. Ang gusto ko, ibang-iba ako dito compared sa ibang mga projects [ko]. Maganda ang character and excited ako. Gusto ko rin gumawa ng off-beat, pero pagdating sa movie. Pero pagdating sa TV, ok na sa akin 'yung character [ni Warren] dito. Kung maipapakita ko lang 'yung versatility ko, the better."
Alfred is also really looking forward to working with the all-star cast: "Actually, I'm very excited kasi sobrang gagaling lahat ng kasama ko. Just to work with them is an honor enough for me. Excited na ako sa mga eksena namin kasi marami akong matutunan sa kanila."
And he only has praises for the take of Direk Gil Tejada in his plan to attempt to appeal to the Pinoy audience. Kaya kanyang banggit, "And ok si Direk. Alam niya ang gusto ng Pilipino, kasi siya ang naging diketor ng mga top-rating drama series and it sounds like a good idea na i-adapt or i-Filipinize ang mga situations sa script."
"Manood po kayo ng All About Eve. Makikita ninyo ang isang obra maestra pagdating sa acting. Makakasama natin si Sunshine Dizon, Iza Calzado, Jean Garica, Eula Valdez, Richard Gomez, Mark Anthony Fenandez and siyempre ako po! Directed by Gil Tejada," ang imbitasyon niya sa mga nag-aabang nitong Pinoy adaptation ng isang Koreanovela hit.
