Hero Angeles has appeared sa isang fantasy soap even before he switched to being a Kapuso. Pero ayon sa kanya, this is the first time he gets to wear a costume - one that shows a little skin. So kamusta naman ang lagay ni Hero?. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.

Nang madatnan namin si Hero Angeles, nakatalukbong na ang cape ng costume niya sa katawan niya. "Kasi nga inuubo ako," paliwanag ng teen actor. "Ang laming doon kanina, nakatalikod ako sa aircon."

This was during the press conference ng Luna Mystika, kung saan ipinakilala ang mga characters ng last primetime offering ng GMA-7 for 2008. Hero's position put him directly in line with the air conditioner—and this is after a night na inulan sila sa gubat.

"Nagre-rehearse [kami] noon. Sina Direk Gil [Tejada] kasama ko." That night, ayon kay Hero, they were rehearsing their scenes to film para sa press conference VTR. "Tapos bilgang umulan, 'di kami nakapag-shoot. So naghintay kami, kami nina Aljur [Abrenica], naka-costume kami lahat. Tapos naghihintay lang kami na tumila 'yung ulan.

"E hindi siya tumila."

By the time they decided to just shoot sa sound stage, lahat sila ay nabasa na at nahamugan—lalo na sina Aljur at Hero na halos topless ang costume.

Hero explains na 'yung costume niya now was not the same costume na gusto sana ng Luna Mystika para sa kanya. "Iniba nila kasi daw medyo kahawig sa Kamandag; 'yung mga lobo doon." Dagdag pa niya, "iniba nila, ginawa para magmukhang elf."

And unlike in other shows na naiinitan ang artista sa costume, ang kay Hero naman ay sobrang malamig. "Exposed eh." Compared daw kina Mark [Herras], mas covered 'yung sa mga kasamahan niya.

Kwento ni Hero, "sinabi ko [na] hindi naman kagandahan ang katawan ko. Hindi naman ako si Aljur 'di ba? Hindi naman ako Ultimate Hunk." Kaya naman, he approached the costume designer prior to his costume being made na huwag masyadong gawing daring ang costume niya. "Wala [akong] ganyang lakas na loob."

Ang nangyari lang, mukhang lalo pa siyang naging exposed. Hero says na dahil daw mas gusto ng staff ng Luna Mystika na mas maging confident ang itsura ng role ni Hero. "[At] hindi nila puwedeng takpan masyado," he continues that as the leader kailangan daw talagang iba ang itsura niya. Kaya naman nagpapasalamat na si Hero na nagkaroon ng kapa ang costume niya.

Though nagkakasakit na si Hero dahil sa suot niya, hindi naman niya ito ipagpapalit. "Enjoy naman ako eh."

Hero says na this is not his first time to do a fantasy role. First time sa GMA, yes. Pero mas first time ang magsuot ng intricate na costume. "Dati pag nanunuod ako ng Kamandag, iniisip ko, anong feeling ng may costume?"

It seems Hero has finally found the answer to his question. "Malamig pala," he chuckles. "Ano naman, hindi nila pinapabayaan 'yung itsura nung character." Though, inamin ni Hero na talagang kinabahan siya. "Kasi hindi naman ako ganoon, 'yung mga katulad ni Jace [Flores], 'di ba? Ang ganda ng katawan."

   i hope Luna Mystika wouldn't be the last soup for hero..sana may next p s primetime,with jen and mark...naniniwala aq sa talento ni hero..alagaan nyo sana c hero gma 7 ..

   hi Hero--you are so good playing alguwas. i was not a fan of ur before..but i changed. this series made me a fan of you, luis alandy, heart , kris bernal and many more.

   hi hero - pagpasensyahan mo na lang ung ibang nagcocomment pa rin ng bad about your kuya and whoever manages you, i don't think they ever think well or sad to say they don't know naman the full story but they are always free to judge, HERONIANS are thankful that Kuya Henry and Kuya Germs joined forces to put you back and make us all happy. Syempre they are managers, so they just have the right to protect you and all that. Di naman matatawag na manager pag di nakikialam di ba? It is all for the good of the artist. Where is Sandara? Where is Cristy? wala lang tanong lang po hehehe - For all I know nasa mabuting kamay pa rin si Hero. Kaya ako never ako magsasalita ng wala akong alam kasi baka bumalik din sa akin

   like ko si Hero...cute pa ng make-up niya...sana wala ng maging issue sa kanya para tuloy-tuloy na ang career niya...talented pa naman siya at so far inaalagaan talaga siya ng Kapuso Network...

   natutuwa ako sa make-up kay hero. pati na rin sa costume. i think, if they ever decide to make another installment of encantadia, hero would be a good addition. that said, nanghihinayang ako at namaalam na si arman. :(
