Hosted by Chairman of the Blackboard Janno Gibbs. , Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5? returns to television with a new set of bright and gifted grade 5 students na galing sa iba't ibang schools. Sila David Omilla (Claret School of Quezon City), Jules Cyber Cruz (Lourdes School of Mandaluyong), Matthew Kyle Oronce (Diliman Preparatory School), Gloria Viloria Larin (Lagro Elem. School), Michael Brian Alvarez (Lourdes School of Mandaluyong), Pauline Allyson Abalos (University of the Philippines Integrated School), Louis Luthy (Claret School of Quezon City), Ram Louis del Mundo (Colegio de San Juan de Letran), Katherine Anne Pavino (Colegio San Agustin) and Russel Krashmere Garcia (Colegio San Agustin) ang napili upang tumulong sa mga contestants ng Kakasa Ka Ba sa Grade 5?
Ang Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5? ay based sa popular TV show in the US, ang Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? ng Mark Burnett Productions.
Mechanics of the game
Ang Kakasa Ka Ba sa Grade 5? ay contest para sa mga professionals na may edad na 24 years old pataas. They will be challenged to answer questions na galing sa textbooks ng grade 1 hanggang grade 5 students.
Sa unang round, ang contestant ay sasagot ng sampung questions from grade 1 to 5 with subjects like Math, English, Science, Music, Arts, Physical Education, Civics, Geography, History, Spelling, Computer, etc. Pipili ang isang contestant ng isang classmate para tulungang siya sa two consecutive questions.
Representatives from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports are present para i-verify at i-certify ang mga questions and correct answers na gagamitin sa episode.
And since Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5? is an extraordinary class, it also has extraordinary rules dahil maari mag-cheat ang contestant sa pamamagitan ng pag gamit ng Peek, Copy at Save! Ang Peek allows the contestant na sumilip sa answer ng classmate and then decides kung susundin niya answer ng classmate o hindi. Ang Copy naman allows the contestant na kopyahin ang sagot ng classmate whether it is right or not. Lastly, ang Save naman ay ginagamit kapag nagkamali ang contestant at ang sagot ng classmate ay tama.
During the game, kailangan sabihin ng contestant ang phrase na “Ikakasa ko na” para ma-lock ang answer niya. Kapag nagkamali ang contestant within the first five questions, i-uuwi niya ang Kalabasa Award at aaminin niya na hindi siya kakasa sa Grade 5 out loud. He then leaves the classroom without any cash prize.
Pero kapag umabot siya sa sixth question, may guaranteed na 50,000 ang contestant kung masasagot niya ang question ng tama at magdecide siyang huminto sa game. At any point pwede siyang mag decide na huminto at mag-drop out sa klase at maiuuwi na niya ang guaranteed cash prize.
Kung ang contestant ay umabot sa tenth question at masagutan ito ng tama, maari na siyang maglaro sa jackpot round, kung saan puwede siyang manalo ng 1 million pesos. Para makuha ang jackpot, kailangan niyang sagutin ng tama ang tanong without the help from any of the classmates.
Tiyak na isa na naman itong aabangan na programa ng GMA kung saan natututo ka na, nag-eenjoy ka pa! Kaya huwag mag-absent sa opening ng naiibang klase ng Kakasa Ka Bas a Grade 5? season 2, starting November 15, pagkatapos ng Pinoy Records.

Hello, Im one of those millions of viewers of GMA shows and Im very fond of watching shows that are really educational like the Kakasa Ka ba sa Grade V. Watching the kids and the contestants, Im challenged to be one of the contestants , so I tried to surf your website on how to be one of the studio contestants, however, there is no clear instructions or directions on how to join and be one of the studio contestants.
