Starting next week the romantic comedy Ako si Kim Samsoon will soon be seen on GMA’s primetime telebabad block. Portraying the lovable Kim is no less than the Asia’s Songbird -Ms. Regine Velasquez.
A Koreanovela remake
Hitting the nation by storm in 2006, the Koreanovela My Name is Kim Samsoon made everyone fall in love with the story and the character of Kim. Recognizing the potential of this story, GMA is doing a remake of this show with the network’s best talents at its helm.
Portraying the title role is Ms. Regine Velasquez, who absolutely adores the character of Kim.
“The character is so lovable. Ako mismo na-inlove doon sa character,” says Regine about her newest role. She adds that she is absolutely enjoying herself in shooting the remake of this Koreanovela, thanks to the staff and crew of the show.
“Actually, I am having such a great time! They gave me the best staff and crew. The same group who did Marimar is now handling Kim Samsoon,” shares Regine about her new project.
Soon on GMA
Scheduled to hit the nation on June 30, Ako si Kim Samsoon also stars Mark Anthony Fernandez, Wendell Ramos, Tessie Tomas, Nadine Samonte and other big stars of GMA.
"Mommy ko si Tessie Tomas. It's such a big honor for me to work with Tessie. Si Ms. Teysi, hindi na siya masyadong active. At my God, dekalibreng mga artista talaga ang mga kasama ko dito. We have Vangie Labalan, si Eugene [Domingo],naluka-luka nga ako. Alam mo, nakakatawa. Of course, we have Sweet [John Lapus], Carmi Martin, we have Mark [Anthony Fernandez]. Siyempre, si Wendell [Ramos], and introducing naming dito si Hayden [Kho]," describes Regine excitedly.
She continues that she is thankful that GMA was able to get the rights of the show and she is quite honored to have been chosen to play the role of Kim. “’Yung storyline talaga is practically the same pero syempre nakakatuwa nga kasi binigyan ng right kung sino mang naghahandle nung show sa Korea, na gawing mas Filipino. Kumbaga ‘yung kultura natin kasi syempre iba pa rin dun sa kultura nila kahit papaano ‘di ba? Pero nakakatuwa talaga siya. It’s a romantic comedy,” explains the Asia’s Songbird about GMA’s Kim Samsoon.
No doubt, Regine isn’t the only one excited about this show. Filipino viewers are clamoring for this romantic comedy to start soon and thank God, the long wait is over.
