In his fourth movie, Jay R plays opposite one of todays hottest stars, Ruffa Gutierrez. How does it feel to go back to the movies, and will Jay R shift from singing to acting? Read up on Jay Rs answers. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Alula Love Dela Cruz.
Well first of all, its very intimidating, Jay R began, explaining how its such a pleasure for him to work with four great actresses. The singer then clarified that its intimidating in a good way.
Im a singer.
Jay R shared that even though hes not the best actor, everyone was cool about him being part of the movie

"Everyones down-to-earth. So its a lot of fun, he says.
He played Vito in the movie, a ramp model who gets involved with the most self-involved of the sisters, Isabella (portrayed by Ruffa Gutierrez). With Jay Rs casting, the role was tweaked to showcase the singers asset -- his singing.
I think they added it while we were shooting lang, Jay R replies. During the shoot, their director, Joel Lamangan, would ask him to write songs on the spot for his character.
Setting the singing part aside, Jay R revealed that he had a good time shooting the movie -- this being the third after So Happy Together, Hari ng Sablay and last years Exodus. Actually, it felt kind of good, he relates.
I feel like Im getting better [at acting] a little bit, he said before adding with a laugh. Pero yung Tagalog ko, medyo baluktot pa rin.
And though he enjoyed the experience of making movies, Jay RJay R shared that he doesnt himself focusing on movies: Just on the side lang.


Singing pa rin [ang focus ko], Jay R adds with conviction.
