Question and Answer

Where do you get your musical talent from?
My parents are both singers, so I guess it runs in the family.

What are your hobbies?
I like reading books, varied interests really from chick literature, to Paulo Coelho, but my favorite would be Hanos Down fantasy books. I also like watching cooking shows.

What music do you listen to?
I listen to everything literally, from folk, to ska/reggae, to pop, to dance, to RnB, to rock… I don’t really understand death metal though.

Do you play any musical instruments? If yes, at what level?
I play the piano and the guitar. I basically know simple chords so I would say that I am entry level player.

Why did you apply for Pinoy Idol?
Because I wanted to prove to myself that I have something in me that can make people stop and listen to me sing. I have been in the music industry (band circuit) for over a decade and I wanted to know if I can make it. Being in the top 24 is such a big accomplishment for me.

Where do you sing?
Being in a band entitled me to sing in bars here in Manila, outside of Manila and even outside the country.

Which singers inspire you and why?
A lot of singers inspire me for different. Lalah Hathaway for her soulful voice and (?), India Arie for her lyrics, Take 6 for their harmonies, Boys 2 Men for style and technique, I could go on and on.

What’s your claim to fame?
Joining Pinoy Idol. Hands down.

What 3 things would you take to a desert island with you?
My iPod (with a perpetual charge), a swiss army knife and a tent.

Who in your life has been most inspiring to you? How?
My lolo and lola, kasi they love each other talaga and magkasama sila until my lolo died. My lola followed not long after that.
